Casa Guacamole was a beautiful location. The bedrooms, bathrooms and eating places were excellent. It was truly a pleasure to spend both day and night at the property. It was an excellent experience!
We chose Casa Guacamole for a Saturday to Saturday stay to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday based on a strong recommendation and the property, host & amazing chef's still exceeded our high expectations, so it's my pleasure to give this stay 5+ Stars so that others may enjoy as we did! We had family stay for the first part of the week, then switched to host friends in the second half, it was perfect. Every room is truly amazing and has it all, easily enough room to sleep 2 in each room, amazing view, and a balcony plus great individual room A/C units that get as cold as you would like it. Staff was outstanding and that's an understatement - meals were EASY and BEST WE'VE had!! We asked for many recipes to attempt to recreate - Make sure to order Chillaquilles for one of your breakfasts!! Gladly answer any questions, we stayed in in October of 2024!
We had such an amazing stay at Casa Guacamole! Such a beautiful home. The staff and owners were courteous and helpful and kept everything well stocked and clean. The rooms were big and very comfortable. It was an incredible experience; our group was already planning a return trip!
It was BEAUTIFUL and we were a group of 10 friends and family that were able to celebrate birthdays and a surprise engagement. And we just fell in love with Erica and Carolina who are amazing cooks and so helpful with local information.
I thought the property was really great. There was plenty of room, and the views were amazing. The property manager, Alfredo, and the staff, Erika and Carolina were available at all times when we needed them. I would highly recommend this property for large groups who want a vacation inside a vacation.
If I could give this gorgeous property more stars, I would. The pictures don’t do it justice. I came with my 6 girlfriends to celebrate our birthdays and we loved every minute. The views from every room are breathtaking and the service from the staff was incredible. The owner was super responsive to every single (sometimes annoying) question asked. This was by far the best Vrbo experience I’ve ever had. We will be coming back!
This property is breathtaking. It is so open and all 5 bedrooms have a balcony that overlook the ocean so there is no bad room. Each bedroom has it's own private bath. Only one bedroom has it's bathroom across the hall but not a bid deal. The service and meals that we received from Carolina and Ericka was 100% amazing. Anytime we go to PV, this will be our home of choice. The walk down the hill to the shops and restaurants was not bad. Everything is so close to this location. We did not rent a car but used Uber everywhere we went and it was so cheap and convenient. 9 of us were so comfortable and didn't even use one bedroom so I think a group of 10 would be perfect. Thank you Andrea for sending us so much information and completely preparing us for our stay. You are the best host ever!!!!
This property is spectacular! As I walked in, it was even more impressive than I could have anticipated. The pictures are fantastic but do not do the property proper justice. There are quite a few steps to get to the property, but it is more than worth it once you enter. The host was terrific in helping coordinate some activities in the house; we had spa services in the place, and it was the perfect backdrop for a relaxing spa day. Also, the communication was impeccable. We stayed at Luna Liquida Hotel, which is a short distance from the house, and we checked out to do some sightseeing, and when we returned to get our luggage from the hotel, Fernando, the groundsman, had already brought all of our bags to the house. The maids, Carolina and Erika, were also extremely helpful, friendly, and excellent cooks. They were so sweet and made the stay even more enjoyable. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. It truly was remarkable and something I will never forget.
wonderful staff A-plus Rooms with each terrace was luxurious. We are 92 and 89 but still able to maneuver steps and hills. It was a challenge. Favorite swim each morning. Loved open spaces and room for everyone.
The house is stunning! Great AC in each room. Indoor/outdoor areas were fabulous to hang out in. The breakfasts by Erika and Carolina were delicious. Amazing view from the pool deck area and each balcony. The only negative would be that the house is up a steep hill so may be hard for anyone disabled or difficulty walking.
For a large group with varied interests the location of this property (in Centro) enabled everyone to easily
The owner stayed in contact throughout the entire stay and her staff and itinerary’s made available to us were extremely helpful. This was a memorable vacation and stay that my group and I will forever cherish. Definitely willing to return and staying at Casa Guacamole in the future. Beautiful, cultural, and amazing property!
Our group had a wonderful and relaxing time at your home. We had Carolina and Erika prepare our dinner meals and they were amazing! We definitely will be back! Thank you!
The whole over all experience was great. The staff was wonderful and they cooked great meals and kept everything tidy and clean for us and they were very pleasant and wonderful. I would definitely recommend other people to stay at Guacamole home. And I look forward to a return visit there .
No complaints on our stay - it was a fantastic trip and house and staff are amazing. Pictures don’t do the house justice it is beautiful with great attention to detail throughout, unbelievable views, and Erica and Carolina cooked us some pretty amazing meals. This wasn’t an issue for our group but note the house is at the top of a hill (why the views are so great…) with a steep 10-15 min walk up from the beach and most restaurants, but house is easily car / uber accessible
1. As wonderful as all previous reviews say 2. Carolina and Erica were wonderful at making our meals perfect 3. Checkin and checkout, covid testing at the house, airport shuttle ALL easy to arrange 4. BIG climb uphill to the casa
I booked a week in January at Casa Guac for 4 girlfriends and myself (ages 65-76) to celebrate one friend's final breast cancer treatments. From the moment we walked in the door to the smiling faces of Erika & Carolina, we knew we were in Heaven! The beautifully decorated downstairs area has a dining room, media room, kitchen, living area with the pool, a fountain, and 2 large dining tables. It is truly breathtaking! The most difficult part was deciding who got which bedroom as they are ALL fabulous. There are 3 bedrooms on the second level (which includes a master suite with a bathroom as large as anyone's house!) and the third level has 2 gorgeous suites. Each unique bedroom faces the ocean with a balcony and all but one bedroom has an ensuite bathroom (the one that does not, on level 2, has a bathroom just across the hall, so no problem). We felt like 5 princesses!! Honestly, I had a hard time getting my friends to leave CG as we all enjoyed gathering by the lovely pool with the fabulous views of Banderas Bay and they did not want to leave. Who could blame them? Several mornings we could see whales from our balcony (whales come from Dec. - Mar. to birth their babies in the Bay). It was so exciting! Not only is CG lovely in every way, every detail has been carefully thought out - the furnishings, the linens, the gorgeous fabrics & accessories, the art, plates, cups, tote bags, plants, and more. It's a designer showcase! We enjoyed our breakfasts each morning at CG and loved experiencing all the wonderful restaurants in Old Town (three 5-star restaurants are in walking distance: La Cappella, Hacienda San Angel Gourmet, and The Iguana ). All of us felt very safe. Gringo Gulch is a beautiful area of Old Town. There are a lot of steps and it is steep in places, but we took our time and walked slowly. "Do not talk or look while you walk" was our motto! You must stop if you want to look while walking around PV. It was a trip of a life time and Casa Guacamole is the PERFECT place for a girls' trip. Of course, it's perfect for couples too! We LOVED every minute of our stay at CG!!
Within minutes of arriving everyone in our group said they would be coming back. That's the impression that Casa Guacamole makes on visitors. The house is charming and wonderfully decorated so that you feel like you are in Mexico. The rooms and outside spaces make it easy for people traveling in big groups to enjoy some privacy or quiet time alone. Erika and Carolina are friendly and helpful and wonderful cooks. Do have them make at least one dinner for you. The house does have a lot of stairs so something to consider if you are traveling with seniors or small children in our group. We'll be back!
Pictures don’t do this property justice. Carolina and Erika were an amazing part of our vacation. Everything is a short Uber ride away, but once you arrive you won’t want to leave. Furniture is up to date and the amenities were better than expected. Hands down, the best VRBO experience.
Our visit to Casa Guacamole exceeded our expectations in EVERY way! We had 5 ladies in our group from different parts of the US and we all met here for a nice getaway! The open air concept of the house was so cool! We visited during rainy season and it was awesome to sit at the table u see cover, play games and watch the rain. Andrea is amazing and the most incredible host. She has thought of every possible detail for the property. Every time we turned around we noticed a different detail. Wish we had taken more pictures of each detail. Erika & Carolina are the best! When they talk about the house and Andrea their entire face lights up. You can tell they have so much pride in what they do and taking care of their guests. We had intended to go out for a few meals and after the first day realized we didn’t even need to leave the house! We had the girls prepare brunch and dinner for us each day. For every meal there was an entire tablsecape. Napkins, rings, placemats, glassware. Perfection. And all of their meals were delicious! In my opinion, this is a perfect place for a girls trip or couples trip…we can’t wait to visit again and if this host ever has properties in other locations we would visit in a heartbeat! Casa Guacamole was incredible!
The pictures online give you high expectations. Upon walking into the villa all of those expectations were not only met, but exceeded. The property is beautiful. Andrea has thought of every detail. It is obvious that this is not just a vacation rental to her, it is her home. That extends to Carolina and Erika. As stewards of Casa Guacamole it is obvious they take great pride in the property.... Not to mention they are fabulous cooks. Be sure to have a night in and let them prepare one of their amazing dinners. We will definitely stay here again year after year.
Amazing property with breathtaking views unfortunately the hike uphill is also very breathtaking literally.
This property is amazing.
Casa Guacamole is one of the most beautiful homes that I have ever stayed in. From the moment you walk into the house you will be in awe. The feeling once you get checked into the house and settle in is magical. The indoor/outdoor living makes this such a unique property - the pool feels like it is right in the living room with a beautiful view of the city and water below. Andrea was very responsive and helpful - before, during and after the trip. Erika and Carolina are amazing, and their cooking even better. I definitely recommend having them serve you dinner at the house at least once during your stay. The pictures of the house are beautiful - but even so they do not do it justice! If you are thinking about staying here - DO IT! We can't wait to come back!
This beautiful property left no details undone. From the communication of the owner Andrea, to the staff; Erica, Carolina, Fredrico, and Jorge we were always impressed. Definitely would rate a 5 star!!! Can’t wait to return.
It’s been a hard ‘re-entry’ into normal life since returning from our incredible week at Casa Guacamole. When I first heard the name, I laughed out loud. It sounded perfect! The photos online are great, but when you step foot into the house - it’s magical! We’ve lived and traveled in other parts of Mexico and appreciate the charm of this special country. Casa Guac embodied the fun-loving spirit of Mexico – in its décor, architecture and with the marvelous duo, Erika and Carolina. The views of the water are spectacular, living and dining areas are perfect - comfortable and accommodating (we had 10 in our group) and the bedrooms and private baths are relaxing – with incredible views and luxurious bedding. The pool was a haven in the afternoon and everyone enjoyed the simple fireworks each night above the ocean . . . an extra-nice touch. Waking up to breakfast and sitting down to dinner together was a special treat for our troop. Erika & Carolina not only cooked lovely meals . . . they set delightful, colorful tables, making our meal-gatherings even more extraordinary. Plus – they were a joy to be around. Andrea, the owner, does an amazing job of making you feel welcome – from the minute you book your reservation. She goes above and beyond to help you create the perfect vacation and we applaud her attention to detail across the board. I could go on and on singing Casa Guac praises but suffice it to say - we will definitely be back!
Casa Guacamole is so amazing. The property is spotless. The open air villa refreshed our souls after a long year of COVID. The views, the pool, the comfy beds, Erika & Carolina, the owner, all made our stay one of our best vacations EVER. We will certainly be back!
Casa Guacamole ruined our plans! The house, decor, views and service made us never want to leave. We ended up staying in and enjoying the wonderful pool and patio more often than not. Our days started with Erika & Carolina serving delicious breakfasts with the most beautiful table settings and ended enjoying the gorgeous sunset & fireworks views from the multiple balconies. Simply beautiful!!!
There really are no words to describe what a great get away this was. There was a total of 8 of us that stayed at Casa Guacamole and each of us cannot wait until we can go back again. The owner of the property really went above and beyond to ensure i had the best experience for my 40th birthday. Andrea helped coordinate everything prior to our arrival. We were treated like royalty by Erika and Carolina. Upon our arrival they welcomed us with delicious margaritas and chips and guacamole. We took advantage of the many services they offer such as breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All the food was so delicious we really had no reason to leave. They even got a birthday cake and balloons for me! I could praise these women for days!!!!!!!!!!! I'm really hesitant to write such a review because I don't want everyone to know about this GEM of a property but everyone really should have the opportunity to visit and experience Casa Guacamole. :-) The owner put so much thought and heart into the interior and exterior of this property. Everywhere you look you just feel this overwhelming sense of nostalgia. Simply stunning! Thank you Andrea, Erika & Carolina for such a wonderful birthday experience. XOXO
We came here for a honeymoon trip and brought 4 friends and had a blast all week! The casa is gorgeous and the ladies are amazing and always taking care of you. We will book another soon for sure! Highly recommend this one!
We traveled with a group of 9 for my Husnband’s 40th birthday. It was perfection! The views were stunning and the home was gorgeous. Each room was unique and well-designed, which made the walk up and down the hill worth it. Erika and Carolina quickly became known as the best restaurant in PV. They cooked for us three of the nights. The overall experience was fantastic! We will be back!!!
Every detail is perfection.... the pool, the decor, the layout, the views... you have to have the experience of staying here at least one in your lifetime. Andrea is an amazing host. Very attentive to your every need. Carolina and Erika and the sweetest and make amazing food. Andrea you should collaborate with them to write a cookbook! We were also lucky to have really great weather we were there. Thank you for your hospitality! Tammy Murray
The house was lovely, and the rooms very comfortable. The hill and steps inside were quite steep and some of our less able guests had some issues. We didn’t realize how high up it would be. The staff at the house were wonderful. We did have some issues with the WIFI only accomodating one or two at a time. The owner was very responsive but we did have trouble reaching the property manager on our cell phone. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a beautiful getaway.
The house is clean and beautiful. Carolina and Erika are exceptional.and their meals were delicious. We had a great stay at Casa Guacamole!
Wonderful vacation with 8 adults and two little ones. Spectacular open air views, fine swimming, fireworks. And Carolina and Erika were superb! We ate in every day except for one night out. They made every thing special.
Our expectations when we booked Casa Guacamole were extremely high and the property exceeded those expectations. We had 9 girls stay and we all felt safe in the house. We ended up cutting back on the excursions and activities to opt for more time hanging out in the pool, enjoying the view, and getting the most out of our stay at the house. Erika and Carolina were great and their food was delicious. Jorge the concierge helped us book a boat ride and massages, both of which I highly recommend. Anytime I come back to PV I’ll stay at Casa Guacamole without hesitation.
We had a fantastic time at Casa Guacamole and we'll definitely be back!
Thank you Casa Guacamole and Andrea for the most amazing week hosting us at your beautiful home. The pictures although beautiful can’t truly describe how much better this home looks in reality. The views and the amenities are second to none. You’ll never run out of glassware or pool/beach towels for sure. (I loved that). The ladies Carolina & Erika are the sweetest girls ever - they are proud of Casa Guacamole and they do a great job preparing AMAZING meals. Anything is never too much trouble. The Casa is super clean, crisp, stylish and every details as been sought-out to make your stay truly magical. I’m already looking to book Casa Guac. Again for Puerto Vallarta 2021. Thank you
We truly enjoyed our vacation atCasa Guacamole. Meals prepared by Erica and Caroline very delicious. Information provided by Andrea accurate and detailed. Overall a great experience. We highly recommend the place!
We spent a week at Casa Guac and like all the other reviews have stated, this place does not disappoint! From the amazing views to the fabulous pool, we enjoyed every moment we spent at CG. I can't say enough good things about Erika and Carolina as well—they were super sweet and made our stay just that much more special. Andrea has done such an amazing job with the decor—there is something wonderful to look at no matter where you turn. The rooms were spacious, the beds were heavenly and every bathroom is completely amazing! It was a dream vacation and we hope to return soon!
Our party of 10 can't speak highly enough about Casa Guacamole and everyone associated with the property. It is beautiful, tasteful, and authentic. The only caveat is the steepness of the cobblestone approach to the front door can be daunting for both drivers and pedestrians.
Loved everything about our stay at Casa Guacamole! Erika and Carolina were very accommodating, and owner was responsive to all of our questions/needs. Location was great, close to all of the areas we wanted to explore. Our favorites aspects of the house were the pool, the beautiful bedrooms, and of course, the homemade guacamole. We will definitely be back!
I can't rave about this house, you will be so happy to book at this gorgeous property. our group was so happy with our stay. The rooms are gorgeous, the property is phenomenal. We loved being so close to everything. Yes the hike up the hill is a workout but well worth it Do not think twice about booking here. We can't wait to go back
Recently stayed at Casa Guacamole with a group of friends. The great architecture and wonderful views of the Pacific Ocean make this house! The house was clean and with great amenities. The open air concept with the swimming pool was an awesome experience. Very close to town, but must walk up/down a step hill. We found ourselves walking down and getting a 60 peso taxi ride back up. Great experience, and would definitely stay here again!!!
Andrea (owner) and Sergio (concierge) they were great to work with. They made our stay so much better by providing great information not only about the house but also about Puerto Vallarta. They responded to e-mails right away and they were very flexible with our requests. But one of the reasons why we came back to Casa G is because of Erica and Carolina, the two lovely ladies that helped us throughout the week. These ladies are a treasure and made our stay even better!! We’re definitelt coming back
Everything about Casa Guacamole was perfect to celebrate my 40th birthday with friends! Andrea was delightful to help with planning leading up to the trip & answered all my questions. The home is beyond beautiful! There are so many special details around every corner. Carolina & Erica made such yummy meals & took such good care of us! We love them. I could not have selected a better place to celebrate my birthday. I will be back to Casa Guacamole!
Our group loved Casa Guacamole. The villa has the charming authentic architecture of Vallarta but will the modern comforts. The details around the residence are great. The layout is great for a group. Carolina and Erica's cooking and hospitality was exceptional. We loved every meal. They spoiled us and made us feel right at home. Our group can't wait to plan our next trip to Casa Guac. Thank you Andrea for sharing your home with the Dallas crew.
Amazing staff, views and accommodations. Andrea was amazing. Stay here! You will not be disappointed.
This home is something special; beautiful views, stunning architecture, lovely decor and comfortable furnishings. Erika and Carolina are sweet and gracious (and wonderful cooks). The owner is very responsive and it shows that she truly cares about her home and your full enjoyment of it. The pictures don’t do it justice! When I walked in the door I was stunned with how large and beautiful it was. Our entire group really enjoyed the pool and the location. If steps aren’t your thing, Uber’s and taxis are plentiful and reasonable.
My friends and I have been vacationing together since our kids were preschool. We have been to a lot of beautiful venues but this was the very best. I've been coming to PV for over 25 years and wish I'd found this place sooner. It's well off the beaten path and fairly hard to find but the destination makes it all worth it. The staff was very friendly and helped make the experience the best it could be. We are already planning our next trip to this wonderful home. As a side note, if you have mobility problems this might not be the place for you since there are a lot of stairs. Other than that I couldn't say enough about how awesome this place is.
Casa Guacamole fulfilled my fantasies! I left behind single digit temperatures and arrived in PV to a fabulously warm and inviting luxury vacation. The hosts have impeccable taste and an eye for flair and the hacienda was perfectly appointed with nothing amiss. I could not have asked for more and the host and staff were always willing to assist. There is a delicious pool with a view, an open air kitchen, dining, and lounge and if you are not taken with the water view there are incredibly beautiful interior dining and living rooms, too . And my bedroom and the bed were so lush I enjoyed a room with a water view from both my bed and from the bathroom and on New Year's eve, I watched the fireworks from my private bedroom balcony. While at Casa Guacamole, I enjoyed not only the signature guacamole and delightful breakfast and dinners (courtesy of the staff) but also a magnificent massage. Everything was to perfection! In fact, I enjoyed my stay so much and was so taken with the details, I hardly left the hacienda! I highly recommend!
I stayed at Casa Guacamole over MLK Jr. Weekend (JAN 2019) as part of a group of eight adults looking to get out of the Seattle winter (read: rain) and get some sunshine. Let me first start by saying that I’m a sceptic. I read all of the five star reviews on VRBO and similar sites and thought, well that’s to good to be true so trolled the internet looking for that one person who gave a two star review (you know them, the person who gives a poor review because a bird pooped on them while they were there or something equally ridiculous). Anyway, nothing at all to be found. Then I went and understand why nothing but five-stars. Andrea was easy to work with during the booking process. The two women who work at the Villa, amazing! Have them pre-purchase your groceries and have them cook dinner too (there’s an additional charge) but well, well worth the cost (even tipping them – and you should). Try the small Peruvian restaurant just two blocks down, there are good food choices all around. There are four (to become five) big bedrooms all with fantastic views. The view from the pool deck where you lounge having coffee, listening to the rooster in the morning and the general vibe of the neighborhood beats being in a resort hands down. Arrange to get a message on the pool deck (Andrea has a recommendation we used). My only regret is that I didn’t arrange an additional massage day of the group. As other reviews mention the trek back to the villa is a long way up. The hills are needed though if you are going to have that view and all the cab drivers seemed to know exactly where to go. So, in short, well worth the cost, the villa is beautiful, and you will not be disappointed!
I first found Casa Guacamole through an extensive online search for our post-wedding/family holiday getaway. My interaction with the owner, Andrea, was so positive, that I booked a second trip for my bachelor party 3 months before the holidays. Both trips were remarkable. The house is absolutely gorgeous. If you are a discerning traveler that likes attention to detail, this is your place. Andrea has meticulously designed every element of the Casa Guacamole experience to make you enjoy every minute. There were often times we said to each other how Andrea has really thought of everything when decorating Casa Guacamole. From the linens, to the pool cushions, to the robes---it's Casa Guaca-unbelievable. The first trip included 3 other friends. Erika and Carolina are the two "ladies in charge", if you will, at the house. The make breakfast and thoroughly clean Casa Guacamole every day (except Sunday). They are two of the kindest people I have ever met. They add so much to the experience of the home. They laughed and playfully encouraged our silliness during our celebration. They recommended wonderful activities and adventures around the area. The second trip, which was in December over Christmas and New Years included my Husband and our families for 8 people in total. There was ample room for everyone. This stay was for two weeks for my husband and I but shorter for our families. During this stay, the girls prepared a beautiful Christmas dinner. It was better than any restaurant meal we had during our visit. They also prepared a few other dinners which were incredible. During our extended stay, Erika and Carolina also washed clothes for us for a nominal fee. If there is ever a need or special request, they will take care of it. Andrea, the owner, is always available by phone. I had a request regarding warming the pool and she took care of it immediately. I really cannot express how wonderful this open-air hacienda is. It's an authentic Mexican experience with breathtaking views, without sacrificing luxury. We would definitely stay again and will plan another trip in the near future. The location of the casa, is on a hill. The views are unobstructed. We would often walk down to the Malecon, the beach, and to various restaurants. If we were ever too tired, or had one too many margaritas, it was extremely simple to grab a taxi and take a 2-3 minute ride to the house. Some of the best restaurants in Puerto Vallarta are within walking distance!
Casa Guacamole is heavenly. And in the heart of all the action! We spent a week there with 4 couples and appreciated the four very private, luxurious bedroom/bathroom combos. Carolina and Erika were perfect hostesses. We loved their cooking (and the casa) so we ended up having them cook dinner for us more frequently than we originally thought. Every meal was wonderful, including breakfast. Andrea obviously thought through every detail within the house, from linens, to beach bags, to glassware - the list is endless. Her customer service was stellar. And very responsive to our requests prior to the trip. Things to consider - lots of steps. Not for the weak! But the views and casa are worth it. We walked to town and taxi'd back up the hill. No need to pack an alarm clock- the neighborhood rooster and dogs will make sure you're awake. Again, not a deal breaker as we are early risers. We enjoy sleeping with the windows open, so it was our choice. Can't say enough wonderful things about CG. We would definitely stay there again!
The views and close location to the city and restaurants was fabulous. The large bedrooms and separate baths were extra comfortable and the main floor area and pool was perfect for games and relaxation! We especially enjoyed the views from the balconies! Thanks Andrea for everything, Dan
I can not describe how unbelievably incredible our stay was!!! This home is more beautiful in person. I cannot thank you enough for allowing my family and friends to stay in your home Andrea. It was such an amazing 40th birthday! One I will never forget. You’re home is gorgeous. Erika and Carolina were so sweet! Breakfast was delicious every morning.
We took a last-minute trip to Casa Guacamole in March. You would never have guessed it was last minute given the attention to detail within the Casa but also the attention to every little request I made to Andrea. She made great recommendations on menus, arranged transportation from the airport and sent me an exhaustive list of ideas, prices and booking info and then whittled it down to what would be appropriate for the ages of our girls. She gave me info on safety, exchange rates, climate, food and directed me to her Book at the Casa, which has everything you would ever need to know about the Casa and your trip (really, look at his Book the moment you arrive — it’s like having a personal concierge at your fingertips!!) . . . basically, she gave me everything I needed to know so that when my friends arrived I just needed to follow Andrea’s suggestions to look like the Hostess of the Year! There was one beautiful moment after another while staying at the Casa. From the view, to the food, to the best linens ever possible and a kitchen stocked with appliances, serving pieces and dinnerware that rivaled that of a gourmet kitchen (not that I was cooking with Erika and Carolina cooking for us!) and daily cleaning and laundry service. My friend and I have travelled the world for 25 years, renting villas and staying in 5-star hotels, and we agreed that the Casa was one of those special places where we would return again and again, if only to just remain in the home for our entire stay! We had a trip of a lifetime! My best friend and I we enjoyed the town with our children and then, at times, we let them go off with Miles (whom we had hired to be our guide for the trip) while we basked in the beauty and papering of the home. While we could have easily had three times the people at the Casa, and enjoyed it just as much, we were fortunate to have just a small group of six . . .six bronzed, well rested, well fed, and very happy visitors! Our trip to Casa Guacamole was a surprise trip to a world of luxury and enjoyment where we fortuitously stepped into a moment of heaven! It was perfect! Absolutely perfect! Writing this now makes me want to book another trip! `
We looked at the photos and video often as we were getting closer to our trip (we were so excited) and even watched the episode of House Hunters International, but nothing prepares you for how truly beautiful this home is! It is a huge "Wow" factor when you walk in the front gate. Every little detail in the decor is so beautiful. Andrea you did an amazing job, everything looks so beautiful together. Supplies are in abundance and everything works! Beds and linens are so comfortable and the views are incredible! We used the pool daily, a must have in PV weather and so relaxing. We had the bedroom at the top and my favorite part is the outdoor shower!! Yeehaa! I've never showered with doors wide open to the ocean! So cool! Still miss that shower every morning. We woke up every morning to Erika and Carolina with fresh coffee, fruit, and delicious breakfast. Such sweet ladies! Loved how they used different table settings every day. I could go on and on but I don't want to give away all the little surprises that you will find at the Casa. When we went to town we walked down but always took taxi's back up. I recommend taking a photo of the closest street signs to the Casa to show your driver, That seemed to work best for us. Enjoy!
Usually I am not lacking of words, however every previous review has described this most beautiful, unique, ethnically charming, local hacienda so vividly, that it is difficult for me to add some new details! This was my first visit to Pacific side of Mexico and Puerto Vallarta. I really did not expect this visit to be more relaxing and enjoyable than the Caribbean side. Yet, all I can say is WOW! The charm of the casa in the heart of town, uphill from Our Lady of Guadalupe is more than I ever expected. No, the photos do not give justice to the completely open air casa including the kitchen! The hills and steps at first were difficult for me, but by the end of the week, I loved walking everywhere around town! Had I returned to a resort (on the eastern coast) I would have only sat and lie all week never walking about town or doing anything different and adventurous! The pool is an added bonus that usually I do not like swimming, but it was sheer pleasure and relaxation to dip in the pool and sit poolside to read or just stare at the views when I did not want to leave the casa! I never closed my windows in my bedroom either; no bugs whatsoever! The bedrooms and bathrooms are beautiful and more than adequate. The sitting rooms and dining rooms are very tastefully decorated and comfortable. Every detail was intentional and not one missed! Erika and Carolina are very sweet, great chefs and more than agreeable to please you in every way. GREAT JOB CASA GUACAMOLE!
Love love love! From the moment I stepped in, I knew I didn't want to leave. The entire house is impeccably decorated, and has everything you could ever want/need. The views from each floor are amazing and I loved waking up each morning to the open window breaze and the sun coming up above the water. I can't imagine staying anywhere else next time I visit puerto Vallarta with family. The two women who work there, Erika and Carolina, were so helpful and welcoming and made us feel right at home! Because we were in town it was easy to walk along the ocean and visit the great restaurants and bars in the area. As a young adult, i would not only love to return with family but would love to go back with my girlfriends. It's a great place for everyone to enjoy, relax, and explore!
Casa Guacamole sits high up on the hill from Our Lady of Guadalupe church, looking out over the ocean with exceptional views from all three floors. The casa has a beautiful open air floor plan with artistic Mexican flair and designer touches throughout. Flowers are everywhere throughout the house, the decks and around the pool. The owners thought of everything for a wonderful relaxing vacation, including wifi, info on restaurants and transportation, towels and beach bags for the beach, beautiful table settings for each meal, and Carolina and Erika who came in and cleaned everyday and fixed breakfast as well when asked. We slept in the penthouse at the top of the Casa where laying on the bed you are open to the ocean and the private deck. Amazing!!!! All of the bedrooms open out to the ocean with king sized beds and enough pillows for every guest's siesta. We would highly recommend this beautiful home!!!
Sitting above PV, above Bandaras Bay, above Our Lady of Guadalupe, Casa Guacamole enchants its guests with a mirrored front door wearing a crown, referencing the crown cupola of Our Lady down the hill. What an entrance: expansive and filled with both light and dark , the interiors abut the pool, the sky and the bay. The outdoor dining room is surrounded by pots filled with flowers. It all flows together. Nothing looks off limits. We slept in the penthouse at the tiptop of the Casa. I plopped down on the bed and took photographs of our view: the terrace with private sunbathing and dining space just steps from the bed, overlooking the city and bay. We never used the beautiful blackout draperies or folding glass doors. We didn't want to miss a minute of that view. Carolina and Erika, our chefs, were engagingly present but not intrusive, preparing breakfast each morning and dinner the night we arrived. Meals were served on a beautiful table with colorful linens and place settings. The hosts have thought of everything: drink covers, coasters, even totes to take with you to hold your gear as you sightsee and shop, all sporting the CG logo. There are enough beach towels, warm throws, pillows for an afternoon nap for an army of guests. The hosts provide a book that answers every question about wifi, restaurants, transportation, and sightseeing. Even if you never leave the place, the architecture, interiors and the views of Puerto Vallarta will make your trip to Casa Guacamole a trip to remember. Comfort and options define the CG experience. Go. Enjoy. Repeat.
Casa Guacamole sits on a cliff above Our Lady of Guadalupe in downtown Puerto Vallerta. The views of Bandaras Bay from this extraordinary property are stunning. The mansion takes full advantage of the breathtaking views from every open air space, window, and patio. A fine example of Mexican architecture, the Mansion houses high level furnishings and artwork. Also, it is minutes from the Malecon for family fun, restaurants, shopping, and night life. The well being of the clients is the owners' highest priority. Highly recommend.
Perched high above the city, once you enter this villa your eyes are drawn to the amazing stone , brick and arches that comprise the first floor. Just when you think you've seen it all, turn to your right and you are treated to a gorgeous pool and panoramic view of the bay! Bedrooms and bathrooms are works of art with a whole nother set of views. Staff is extraordinary. If you have the chance do not miss opportunity to unwind in the environment at Casa Guacamole
Casa Guacamole will take your breath away! The location is fantastic - gorgeous views from every room and from the pool. Located within walking distance of shops, restaurants, the Malecon and sandy beaches, but perched high above a hill so that at night you can enjoy fireworks and the beautiful lit-up cupola of the Cathedral. The house is stunning - architecturally and decoratively. The open air kitchen and dining areas contribute to the vacation vibe, and we appreciated the lovely ocean breezes throughout the day and evening. Every detail is well thought out to maximize beauty and comfort. For example, in our wardrobe there were so many items available from a cozy, classic robe to an adorable towel wrap. There was even a really cool cozy poncho for breezy evenings! The linens and pillows are top notch and there is even an abundance of quick-drying towels for poolside. Erika and Carolina are the two friendly, charming women who will not only make you a delicious breakfast, but will serve it up so beautifully that you'll want to take a picture of it. (I know I did!) We had a wonderful stay at Casa Guacamole. We will definitely be back!
This open air Mexican hacienda was unbelievable. It has great views of the church, town, and the bay from every room. It was a short 5 minute walk to the Malecon with many restaurants and shops on the way down. It was huge with high ceilings, open airy spaces, and every room well appointed with art and furniture. Comfy king size beds in every bed room and a master bath you could run laps in. Fun indoor/outdoor kitchen with nice cook top and oven, big fridge, ice machine, and an endless assortment of cook, glass and tableware. Four different tables to dine from (formal dining room, indoor/outdoor dining room, poolside, or 3rd floor balcony.) The pool was clean (and cleaned almost daily) and of good size (also with the same great views). We spent a large portion of our time in and around the blue tiled pool and were able to find plenty of sun or shade depending on our sun burns. Plenty of towels and outdoor furniture. The best part of our stay were the two woman, Carolina and Erica, who take care of the Casa. They provide free cook service for breakfast, will cook other meals for a small fee, shop for you, do your laundry, and keep the place spotless. They were really excellent cooks and couldn't have been more friendly. They had a snack waiting for us when we arrived...nice touch. I was concerned about having them "lurking around", but soon didn't even notice it as they quietly and discretely went about their business. Our concierge David was great. He met us a half block from the villa on our arrival because it's a little hard to find and walked the van up there. He was always a phone call away, arranged massages at the Casa for the girls, and arranged our ride back to the airport. His English was good, which made it easier for us Gringos. The owner Andrea was prompt to respond to our inquires, and was genuinely interested in our enjoyment of her villa. The pictures of Casa Guacamole don't do it justice...it's the kind of place that lowers your blood pressure as soon as you step through the front door. It was hard to leave and I can't wait to get back. I did not recommend it for young kids and pets, as I don't know what their policy is. People with walking disabilities would have much difficulty with the many stairways (and sidewalks around town, for that matter.)
This was my first experience in Puerta vallarta, and I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!! As soon as I walked in I knew I would never want to leave. The home itself is nothing short of beautiful. Magical... heavenly... only a few words to describe this absolutely amazing home. The staff was extremely friendly, and accommodating. There for whatever you may need! The attention to detail is impeccable!! You will not regret your stay at casa guacamole. In fact, I can guarantee you'll be dying to go back!!
Last year when our son and his fiance announced their March 2017 wedding date, we were very excited for them. And then they explained it would take place in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. "Mexico?!" My husband and I were less than enthusiastic, but once we located Puerto Vallarta on a map, began our search for a place to stay. While the happy couple made arrangements for the wedding party and guests to book at a beachfront all-inclusive hotel, we decided to opt out. We wanted something different, something that said we were in Mexico. Our search led us to Casa Guacamole. The on-line photos and video were amazing, the four bedrooms made it perfect for us (we traveled with friends) and the idea that the house came with staff, seemed like a no-brainer. We arrived at PVR early afternoon, and were walking up the steps to the beautiful Casa Guacamole by 3:30. There are so many superlatives to describe our first impressions, but the only thing I could say at the time was, "Wow!" Followed by "Oh, my goodness." The open-air hacienda was unlike anything any of us had ever seen (world travelers among us). Traditional Mexican architectural elements abounded; hand-painted tiles everywhere, antique doors ("La Puerta") used as headboards, beautiful Talavera sinks, lovely and comfortable furnishings, splashes of colorful fabrics (my favorite Lilly Pulitzer prints added the unexpected). And then there was the view...day or night, none of us ever tired of gazing at it. Sunrises were nearly as lovely as sunsets (which were spectacular) and watching the changing colors of both the sky and waters of Banderas Bay, with frigates soaring above and below us, poolside conversations more often than not came to a halt. We quickly established a routine: coffee brewing at 6:30 for us early risers; Carolina & Erika arrived at 9:00 to prepare a delicious breakfast; off on a walking tour to explore The Malecon and points beyond, back up the hill for late afternoon Margaritas and a dip in the pool; showered and dressed in time to enjoy a fabulous dinner prepared by Carolina & Erika; up to the third floor balcony to watch the sun set and the lights of Puerto Vallarta to come up...several times we watched a movie in the living room, but leaving those wonderful views was always a challenge for me. (The wedding events took place at the end of our week.) All in all we were so happy to have had a more authentic Mexican experience that a hotel could have ever given us.
I've stayed in other VRBOs and high-end hotels, but none top Casa Guacamole! This open-air hacienda is beautifully decorated with spacious bedrooms, bathrooms and multiple lounging areas. Because it's situated on hill above the bay, the views are breathtaking and can be enjoyed from the open-air kitchen, pool, and every bedroom. No detail was overlooked...from the attractive table settings to the colorful and plentiful turkish towels at the pool to the comfortable bedding and fluffy pillows. Carolina and Erika were a delight! Every meal they prepared was delicious and the extensive menu offered more selections than we had an opportunity to try. I can't wait to go back!
We stayed at the casa for a girls trip. Honestly? I loved every thing about the house!! It is gorgeous and so easy to relax and have fun there. Highlights were Erika and Carolina who work for the owners and are just amazing. They are kind, hospitable and REALLY good cooks. It is worth every penny to have them prepare meals for you in the luxury of "your own home". The pool is perfect, the rooms and beds very comfortable. We loved the 'open air' atmosphere. The space is huge but at the same time you feel very cozy. In terms of location, we felt very safe. It was easy to walk to the market and downtown and waterfront. But at the same time, easy to cab it also - just make sure you have good directions to the casa because it is a hidden oasis and could be hard to miss. If you have any walking limitations I would suggest taking taxis because the walk up and down the old Puerto Vallarta streets can give you a work out:) The owner, Andrea, made sure we were connected to a gentleman in PV that could set up anything for us. Travel to/from airport, excursions, even in house massages by the pool!! I highly recommend Casa Guacamole and all it has to offer.
From the moment we arrived at Casa Guacamole to the time we left, every detail was taken care of for us with impeccable precision. Erika and Carolina and their wonderful smiling faces were amazing, taking care of our every need. Not to mention their unbelievable cooking. I wrote down several recipes to try at home. The house itself is incredible - rooms are very spacious and airy plenty of space for our group of 8. The views are to die for and the pool was probably one of the warmest I've ever swam in (I'm a wimp with cold water) and definitely a hit with our family. The decorating is impeccable and there are little treasures and interesting things in every nook and cranny. I came home completely inspired to change the aesthetic of our home. Our stay at this house was glorious and I wouldn't have changed a thing.
We have used VRBO for years and have stayed in many beautiful places but not once have I felt compelled to write a review. If you are looking for an authentic, gorgeous hacienda with space for everyone, this is it. My extended family of 8 stayed here for nearly 10 days and everyone from ages 8 - 78 LOVED this place and loved Erika and Carolina. My kids were besides themselves that there was a heated pool "almost in the living room"! Just go. Stay and enjoy every minute of it. You will never regret it!
What an amazing trip!! I couldn't have been happier when we arrived at Casa Guacamole it is stunning. Every detail is taken care of so all we had to do is relax and enjoy our vacation. Erika and Carolina make everything so effortless, breakfast is served every morning what a luxury sitting by the pool being spoiled. We are already planning are vacation for next year.
Casa Gaucamole is by far the nicest place I have stayed in a VRBO rental. It is extremely spacious and every detail has been thought of. From the bed linens to the plates and wine glasses every detail is beyond beautiful. For those who like to be adventurous the town, buses and shopping are only a few blocks down the hill. And if all you want to do is relax, the pool is amazing. We did a lot of both. Erika and Carolina are the friendliest and most talented chefs we have seen. They are the sweetest and most accommodating ladies. Our week in Puerto Vallarta was better than we could have imagined. If you need help getting around be sure to ask Miles. He is the perfect tour guide. We will definitely be back!

If you dream of the most fabulous accommodations you could possible imagine, Casa Guacamole is it! Everything is 10 stars, the house, the views, the staff of Erika and Carolina. The location close to most everything; just head 3 or 4 blocks down the steps. (For those of us who in our retirement years, a cab ride back up the hill was often a wise choice, just 50 pesos.) We arrived to a wonderful surprise in the refrigerator and then a beautiful prepared dinner by Erika and Carolina for a very reasonable charge. They cooked three dinners for us and each would compare to anything you found at a top restaurant. There are just not enough superlatives for Casa G. Everything you need or didn't even know you need is there waiting for your extraordinary vacation. However, everyone should be aware that there a lot of stairs in this Casa, but absolutely worth it! Absolutely beautiful!!!!
What an amazing experience! The process of booking and planning our visit was made incredibly easy by the owners. Our entire group of 4 adults and 2 teenagers, were blown away by the style and grandeur of Casa G. We all instantly fell in love! The attention to detail with absolutely everything is a credit to the owners. The house Staff Christina and Erica were brilliant, we had there amazing breakfasts each morning, and also had them prepare 2 evening meals during our stay( highly recommend you should do the same). The properties location about 3 blocks up the hill from downtown PV, gives you a breathtaking view of the bay and town, but leaves you within easy reach. Each of the four bedrooms were spacious and immaculately designed. There was nothing we didn't enjoy about stay, and are already looking to plan our next visit. Thanks so much Andrea and Casa G, what an amazing experience!
Go. Just Go. That's what I want to shout from the rooftop! Upon entering this incredible property, we were overjoyed with our planning. We were literally speechless as we entered the villa and were ushered up to our bedroom. Words simply cannot convey the grandeur of the view, the quality & high style of the furnishings, and yet the incredible comfort and relaxed atmosphere of this stunning home. The owners had arranged for their American son, Miles to meet us at the airport. How nice to have him chaperone us through the airport gauntlet and to the least expensive cab to be found! Miles was able to give us a quick overview of the area on the way to the Casa. From this point forward, we were relaxing in this amazing villa. It actually becomes difficult to decide where you want to be in this home! The large shaded circular "pit" area with the comfy couches and amazing views? The sunny pool deck with lounge chairs and amazing views? Sitting at the cutest bar stools ever, at the counter of the open air kitchen. Or your own large, breathtaking bedroom with seating areas and plush King size beds, with even better views of the entire Bay of Banderas. Pinch me, we must be in a movie, or at least an advertisement from Conde Naste Best Places to Stay in the world! Except the price is so reasonable that you wonder what could be the catch? And as the week unfolds you realize that there is no catch . . . just the magic of this STYLISH, lovely home and the charm of PV that has captured your heart. A huge bonus: I slept better than I do at home. The open air was perfect in January, but the louvered bedroom doors close in the evening and AC can be turned on if you prefer total climate and light control. Prior to this trip, my experience had been that all beds in Mexico are made of concrete. NOT true we discovered after staying at Casa Guacamole!! Deliciously comfortable, clean and pampering in every way. And I haven't even started on the actual activities we enjoyed while in exciting and beautiful PV. I highly recommend that you read the owners Welcome Binder from cover to cover for insight and fantastic suggestions for dining and activities. For us, lunch at the Ocean Grill and private beach was a HUGE highlight, as was whale watching. The charm of the location - cobblestone streets, old world and new world colliding, Erika and Carolina's breakfast and smiles, GREAT dining nearby, and the feeling of safety yet adventure. A perfect vacation!
Casa Guacamole is by far the most beautiful rental home we have ever had the pleasure of staying. As others have already reviewed, the layout is lovely; plenty of room for a group to spread out or be together. The decor is stunning, and the attention to detail is that of a 5-star hotel, except it is all yours! Much of the casa is open air, so you feel as though you are part of the outdoors, and the view of the bay is absolutely breathtaking from every bedroom and also the lovely pool area. Erika and Carolina, the women who take care of Casa Guac are friendly and welcoming, and prepare a gourmet breakfast every morning. Each bedroom is more lovely than the next, with luxurious linens and comfy beds, with air conditioning and ceiling fans. We felt completely pampered at Casa Guacamole. The owners are very attentive and helpful with any questions you may have about staying there. CG is situated close to many restaurants, bars, banks, gyms and shopping, and cabs are plentiful and inexpensive if you'd rather get a lift anywhere. Our family of five stayed over Christmas, which included adults and teenagers; all of us agreed that this was by far the nicest place we have ever stayed! What a wonderful, beautiful home for us to spend our holiday!
We cannot express how much we enjoyed our stay at Casa Quacamole! What an incredible experience. The owners have thought of every detail to make your vacation perfect. The layout of the house is just wonderful for vacationing with family or friends. It is also immaculately cared for and decorated perfectly. It is such a wonderful place to be. We use VRBO often for travel all over the world and this far outranks any place we have stayed. The views are stunning and you really never need to leave the property because it's so delightful. There are though wonderful opportunities to explore and dine out just a short walk down the hill if you do want to be out and about. We recommend taking advantage of having the cook prepare dinner for you, such a treat and wonderful food. The owners are so incredible to work with and are happy to arrange all sorts of things for you. We cannot wait to return to Casa Quacamole. It is in a class of it's own! Laura
My husband & I have used VRBO extensively in Europe where we stayed in Ibiza Spain, Cassis France & Levanto Italy. None of these rentals can even hold a candle to Casa Guacamole! In this home, everywhere a person turns there is beauty and charm. Since we love to be outside, this house was the best as the sea & sky were with us everywhere. I found myself taking photos of the views from every angle. With the three stories, everyone could have their own place to go and relax. Each bedroom is elegantly and colorfully decorated & the details keep a person wishing one could recreate the look back home. We found ourselves meeting together by the pool & dining room table to feast. The meals prepared by Erika & Carolina were gourmet and delicious. There was nothing missing & I found myself enjoying the trip home from the fabulous excursions to the Marietas Islands, the Malecón, Boca de Tomatlán & the set from the movie The Predator, always looking forward to being at Casa Guacamole. Treat yourself to a taxi or take the walk down to the Cathedral & the sights of Puerto Vallarta in the evenings. Our stay is forever imprinted in our memories... I even made a short iMovie of Casa Guacamole to relive it again!
I absolutely agree with the description of Casa Guacamole - it is definitely MAGICAL!! I had the opportunity to vacation in Puerto Vallarta in May with my family and my stay at Casa Guacamole was unbelievable. The attention to detail is outstanding - everything my family needed was at our fingertips. The views from every room are spectacular and the house itself is just beautiful. My family and I have been renting on VRBO for quite a few years and this is by far the best place we have ever stayed. I found the staff to be very pleasant, friendly and such amazing cooks. They also keep the house immaculate! The location is wonderful - so close to great shopping, restaurants and the beach. We found that we could walk to just about anywhere we wanted to go. Panchos Tacos - a family favorite!! Can't wait to go back for more. I also found that the owners were so great to work with - very helpful and full of so much info about Puerto Vallarta. We will definitely be going back to Casa Guacamole!
Casa Guacamole exceeded my expectations in so many ways. The moment I walked in, my jaw dropped – the brick archways, overall architecture and customized decor of the open-air Hacienda is breathtaking. We were welcomed with delicious homemade guacamole. For a moment, I thought I was dreaming. This hacienda is so unique, you can look out to STUNNING views of the bay in every room - including every bedroom! We woke up in the morning to fresh squeezed orange juice and a breakfast prepared by the lovely staff, Carolina and Erika. For a small charge, Carolina and Erika are also available to prepare lunch or dinner. I highly recommend this service, they are phenomenal cooks and are so pleasant to be around! You can walk or take a very short cab to downtown area was about 5 blocks - 60 pesos ($3). SO many fantastic local restaurants and shopping. We felt immersed in the Mexican culture in downtown Puerto Vallarta. It’s a great experience. Whether you are looking for a peaceful getaway or a fun get-together with friends or family - I would recommend Casa Guacamole. For me, it was an unforgettable, one-of-a-kind vacation. I know I will be coming back to Casa Guacamole the next chance I get.
We have had the opportunity to do a lot of travel and we cannot rave enough about the Casa Guacamole experience. Every bedroom is spectacular and beautifully appointed with Its own bathroom. And, because the Bedrooms are located on floors two and three there’s a lot of separation between the common area and the bedrooms. The views from the common area on the main level are unparalleled. There’s so much space on the common area. Our group of 10 was easily able to hang out with with each other or to get away from each other. We ate at all three of the dining areas and Carolina and Erika were the most gracious chefs and greatest cooks that you will get the opportunity to experience in Mexico. The pool is spectacular and was serviced on a daily basis, as were the many plants scattered throughout the casa. While there is a little bit of a climb to get to the house, it is a simple cab ride from downtown if you don’t want to get the exercise. If there’s any question about where to stay in Puerto Vallarta With a larger group, there’s no question that this should be the only place that you would want to stay.
We had 6 great nights there, bueatiful view, comfortable bed, such a big place! Neighbors aren't loud, i would defiantly stay here again.
The house has beautiful common areas, comfortable private areas. Erika and Carolina elevate your stay at Casa Guacamole. The house is very well equipped, beautifully decorated and you can perceive Andrea’s attention to detail. Andrea is a great host and helped to make our stay even better. I highly recommend staying at Casa Guacamole.
The house itself was beautiful and the two ladies, Carolina and Erika were phenomenal. our group included 9 adults and 2 toddlers which I am sure was a handful. The location of the house up the hill and along narrow streets was slightly problematic for us to have both Uber and Taxi's make to the house. therefore we tended to stay at the house more than we had planned, although it was not a hardship. overall experience was good.
